1 John 4:9-11

⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent his uniquely existing Son into the world so that we might live through him. ¹⁰ This is love: not that we have loved^[a] God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Dear friends, if this is the way God loved us, we must also love one another.
